Music Monday: {Jesus, Friend of Sinners} by Casting Crowns

I love this song by Casting Crowns -- such powerful words!  So many things I could say, but I'm going to let the song speak for itself.

Thank you, Lord, that You love us and made a way to redeem us!  Thank you, Jesus, that You've set the perfect example!

You love every lost cause; you reach for the outcast
For the leper and the lame; they're the reason that You came
Lord I was that lost cause and I was the outcast
But you died for sinners just like me, a grateful leper at Your feet

  1. I LOVE this song and this whole cd! A couple at my church sang this a little while ago and it was awesome! http://youtu.be/IBY9RrA2gL4
My dad also really likes this song-we were just talking about it last night after our family devos and so we listened to it and sang along-so much fun!

  2. Casting Crowns is my favorite band ever!! I have every one of their cds! The Lord has truly blessed Mark Hall with the gift of words AND how to string them together. Their latest cd is wonderful, my favorite song off it being "Wedding Day" - that one line at the end when it says "when the hands that bear the only scars in heaven touch her face and the last tears she'll ever cry are finally wiped away" - what a word picture! This band is such a blessing. The song you posted here is so powerful and really shines light on that "Pharisee spirit" we can sometimes have as Christians. Mark Hall sang it best in "If We Are The Body" - "Jesus paid much too high a price for us to pick and choose who should come." Amen.

Thanks for posting this, Michelle! I haven't seen the video to the song yet so this was really cool :)

    Blessings,
    Amanda

    1. Hi Amanda! So glad that you enjoyed this one! I love Casting Crowns' music, too. Their music and ministry is such a blessing! One of my favorite songs is "Who am I?"

I just listened to Wedding Day on youtube, and you're right, it's such a beautiful song. I just may need to get the entire CD for my music collection. :)

"Jesus paid much too high a price for us to pick and choose who should come." Amen. I couldn't agree more!

I pray that you have a wonderful week, Amanda.

      Sweet Blessings,
      Michelle : )

  3. I love this song too and Casting Crowns!

I recently watched a video of Mark Hall's testimony on dealing with his dyslexia and ADD. Mark knows his talent comes from the Lord. I think it's amazing how God uses our weaknesses to reach others and bring Him glory. : )

    1. Hi Cathy, it's so good to see you. Thanks for stopping by, and sharing about Mark Hall's testimony. I didn't know about his dyslexia and ADD.

I agree completely about God using our weaknesses. It's amazing what He can do with "cracked pots." ;-)

      Have a blessed day, Cathy!
