Music Monday: {Shine} by Christa Wells

With the August 2013 release of Christa Wells new album, Feed Your Soul, comes a new video for the song Shine.  The entire album is beautiful and captivating, and I highly recommend it!  It's truly one of my favorites, as are all of her albums.

Music Monday: {Coming to the Light} by More Than Rubies

More Than Rubies is made up of singer-songwriters Christa Wells and Nicole Witt.  The music is beautifully spiritual, anointed, and such a blessing to the soul.  I previously posted a song by Christa Wells that you can find here as a Music Monday selection.  I love her music, and now she's joined forces with the talented Nicole Witt, and the result is an album that is Christ centered, and glorifies God, as well as being a feast for the ears.  I highly recommend the album!  The duo gets their name from Proverbs 3:15 . . .

For wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.

Music Monday: {How Emptiness Sings} by Christa Wells

I discovered Christa Wells a couple months ago when Janelle at Comfy in the Kitchen mentioned Christa's album, Frame the Clouds, on her facebook.  I listened to the samples on iTunes, and bought the album that day, and I've been loving it ever since!  Her voice and music are AMAZING!  In the reviews that I've included below, her music is referred to as, "captivating, compelling, phenomenal, and poignant," to name a few.  If you like JJ Heller, Audrey Assad, Sara Groves, and Brooke Fraser, I have no doubt that you'll fall in love with Christa Wells.

The following video is one of the songs from her 2011 release, How Emptiness Sings.  I purchased this one too, and have had it on repeat -- so beautiful!  Take a listen, and let me know what you think.

Known for the past several years for her unusually poignant, poetic and honest songwriting, Christa Wells is now finding her own place as a performing artist.  Christa has written with numerous Nashville artists and had songs cut by artists such as Plumb, Point of Grace, Sara Groves, Selah, and Natalie Grant. Several have been hit singles, including most notably "Held" recorded by Natalie Grant, which received airplay in both Christian and mainstream markets and earned her the GMA "Songwriter of the Year" award in 2006.

In 2009, Christa released her first solo album, "FRAME THE CLOUDS," with guest performances by Sara Groves, Plumb, Nicole Witt, Fly Golden Eagle, and Todd Smith.

In March 2011, she released 7 new songs on an EP entitled "HOW EMPTINESS SINGS," and December 27, Christa & her touring partner Nicole Witt release their joint effort, "IMAGE OF GOD."
