Music Monday: {Promises} by Sanctus Real

Have you all heard this awesome song by Sanctus Real?  It meets all of the criteria for a Music Monday song . . . amazing sound, stellar vocals, and a message that will knock your socks off!  If you haven't heard it, I think you're really going to love it!  It's the perfect reminder to each and every one of us, that when things seem to be falling apart around us we can hold onto God's promises . . . letting his words be our strength.  Praise the Lord that we don't have to flounder around wondering where to turn and what to do.  He is always there for us  . . . He will never leave us nor forsake us.

Enjoy, and be blessed!

Sometimes it's hard to keep believing
In what you can't see
That everything happens for a reason
Even the worst life brings
If you're reaching for an answer
And you don't know what to pray
Just open up the pages
Let His word be your strength

And hold on to the promises (Hold tight)
Hold on to the promises (Alright)
Jesus is alive so hold tight
Hold on to the promises

All things work for the good
Of those who love God
He holds back nothing that will heal you
Not even His own Son
His love is everlasting
His faithfulness unending
Oh, if God is for us who can be against us
So if you feel weak

Neither life, nor death
Could separate us
From the eternal love
Of our God who saves us

  2. AMEN. What a beautiful song, Michelle, thank you so much for sharing it here! Oh, the promises of our God shall last for all eternity! Our Lord, the Creator and Saviour of the world, allowed His heart to be captured in ink and spread upon the page for US... tiny letters for our finite minds to understand, yet each one able to harness the breadth, length, depth and height of Almighty God... it's just so unfathomable... how GREAT is our God!!!

Michelle, I was just thinking of you when I came across a new song by Francesca Battistelli, "Strangely Dim" - check it out when you get a chance, though, you've probably already heard it knowing you! ;-) But just in case, lol, I'll leave the link below :-)

    1. Hi Amanda! So good to see you, girl! :D

I just LOVE what you said! What a great to look at it . . . "Our Lord, the Creator and Saviour of the world, allowed His heart to be captured in ink and spread upon the page for US." AMEN.

Ah, you know me so well, lol. I have heard Francesca's new song, and I love it! As a matter of fact, I was hoping to post it here soon. :)

I pray you're having a wonderful week. Oh, and this is something you might get a kick out of. My daughter got four baby chicks the other day, and one of them is a Rhode Island Red, which made me think of you, since that's where you're from. :D

Have you ever seen a Rhode Island Red chick? They are ADORABLE! They're also a very pretty bird, when they're full grown. Anyway, I digress. Like I said, I thought you'd get a kick out of that. ;-)

    2. How cute, baby chicks?! Just in time for Easter! ;-) No, I hadn't seen a RI Red before but went and Googled it after reading your comment, lol :-) You're right, they are ADORABLE!! I don't live in an area of RI that you would find such wild life, though do I spot deer and wild turkeys sometimes near the elementary school in my neighborhood. My cousin lives about 30 minutes away in a more rural area of RI. The drive to her house takes you past a chicken farm, a lama farm, and basically everyone and their mother has cows or horses in their yards.

Do you guys live on a farm or did your daughter just randomly want to start raising chickens? I'm very curious, as I can't imagine my mom ever letting me get, not one but four baby chicks! I would probably want to be with them all day and never get anything else done, lol! :-)

So happy you heard and enjoyed the new one from Francesca! I couldn't help myself and downloaded it :-) Such a beautiful song. Will keep an eye out for if/when you post about it.

Praying you and yours have a wonderful weekend!
      Blessings,
      Amanda

    3. Hi Amanda,

The chicks are growing by leaps and bounds every day! They're very cute, and so fun to watch -- who knew chickens were so funny!?! ;-)

We don't live on a farm, but in a "rural" subdivision that allows chickens to be kept in the backyard. I don't know about roosters, lol, but we won't be having any of those.

A couple years ago, my husband talked about getting chickens, but nothing ever came of it. My oldest daughter (Julie) has been bugging him about getting a pet (specifically a puppy or a turtle, lol), but he kept telling her no . . . no more animals. Well, one night she comes down from her room asking to get chickens, and the next thing you know he's agreeing to get chickens. This was on a Saturday night . . . Tuesday we bought 4 chicks, and on the next Saturday we bought 2 more chicks. Their names are Ruby, Honey, Daisy, Miss Kay, Buttercup, and Chip (my son named that one, lol).

Julie and her dad started building the coop on Saturday, and should be done by this Saturday . . . hopefully! :)

Right now they're in an 18 gallon Rubbermaid container with a light to keep them warm, and a ventilated lid so that they won't escape. So far, they're a lot of fun. I do tend to lose track of time when I'm watching them.

Now I just need to get more comfortable with picking them up and holding them -- I'm kinda "chicken" when it comes to that, LOL! :D

Hope you're having a great week, Amanda!
