Music Monday: {Like an Avalanche} by Hillsong United

Like an Avalanche was released in February 2011, but I just recently heard it on KLOVE, and it was one of those songs that made me "stand up and take notice," so to speak.  The voice, the sound, and the message that just takes you to that beautiful place of worship . . . overwhelmed and completely in awe of our Savior!

I continue to be humbled and forever grateful by the amazing sacrifice on the cross!  The precious blood of Jesus that was spilled to provide us with a way to redemption -- bringing us back to the Father, where we always belonged.

Thank you for lavishing us with your grace and mercy, Lord.  Thank you for providing us with salvation through your Son, Jesus Christ.  I certainly don't deserve it, but I am eternally grateful!

Beautiful God
Laying Your majesty aside
You reached out in love to show me life
Lifted from darkness into light
Oh

King for a slave
Trading Your righteousness for shame
Despite all my pride and foolish ways
Caught in Your infinite embrace
Oh

And I find myself here on my knees again
Caught up in grace like an avalanche
Nothing compares to this love love love
Burning in my heart

Saviour and Friend
Breathing Your life into my heart
Your word is the lamp unto my path
Forever I'm humbled by Your love
Oh

Take my life
Take all that I am
With all that I am I will love You
Take my heart
Take all that I have
Jesus how I adore You

And I find myself here on my knees again
Caught up in grace like an avalanche
Nothing compare to this love love love

So happy to have my Monday music;) Oh! And I'm reading Lynette Eason's new one too! (saw it up in your corner). I love her suspense. How are you liking it so far?

    1. Hi Susan!! Glad you enjoyed the song! : )

Re: Lynette Eason's new book -- I haven't gotten too far into it, but I'm enjoying it so far. Right now I'm trying to catch myself up to speed on the details from book 1. If it's anything like her first one, I know I'm going to LOVE it! : )

How about you? How are you liking it?

  2. Hi Michelle! That was a beautiful song! Thank you for sharing :) I've really been getting into live worship cds lately. Just found "Highlands Worship" on iTunes (I thought they were Scottish or something, lol, but they're not!). Don't know much about them but their cd had a few songs that really spoke to my heart. Anyway, I know you love music so I thought I'd pass their name along :)

Gosh, it seems like forever since we last spoke. Between work and a friends party I was helping my mom plan I haven't found much time to get online. But I've missed you! Praying all is well with you and yours :)

    Sweet Blessings,
    Amanda

  3. Hi Amanda! So good to see you! I've missed you, too! I'm really glad you could stop by. :D

I'm not familiar with "Highlands Worship," but I'll definitely check it out on iTunes. Thank you for sharing; I appreciate it!

If you don't mind me asking, what type of work do you do? I've been working a lot, too. As a matter of fact, I've subbed the last 7 school days in a row. I have tomorrow off, but I have 6 1/2 more days scheduled this month, but will probably end up with more than that. My free time has dwindled, but I am SO THANKFUL to have the opportunity to work -- it's been such a blessing!

How was the friend's party? Did you all have a big turn out? Did you get to do a lot of cooking for the party?

Thank you for your prayers, and sweetest blessings to you, as well!

  4. Hugs, right back at you, dear Michelle! :)

I don't mind you asking at all ;) We own our own business. Sealcoating, crack filling, asphalt patching and line striping - basically all parking lot and driveway maintenance. We do everything but install new pavement. My dad started the company when I was born, him doing the labor and mom managing the office stuff. Now my brother is on the job with my dad (along with our foreman) and I'm working the office with mom. It's a small business but it's a family affair, lol :) But it is seasonal and our season is quickly coming to a close, so we're doing all we can to make these last weeks count, which hasn't left me much free time. I think it's so cool that you're a substitute teacher! I'm sure your wonderful! I always liked the subs better than the regular teachers, anyway ;)

The party was fantastic!! It was a surprise for a dear friend of mine, who does so much for our church and we just wanted to tell her thank you. A lot of people from church came, so I know the turn-out really blessed her. And the food! Mom and I made chicken marsala, lasagna rolls, kielbasa with pineapple and cherries, (ham, salami & cheese) calzone pinwheels, and a huge toss salad. For dessert we actually ordered a cake because we wanted to put a scripture on it and we're both not THAT steady with a piping bag to pull that off, lol! But mom made fudge brownies and butter balls (kinda like Mexican wedding cookies). Everyone enjoyed themselves and we're still thanking God for making everything go smoothly and perfectly for our sweet friend and sister in Christ :)

Anyway, thats what I've been up to lately, lol! Hope we can talk again soon, my friend!

    Blessings,
    Amanda

  5. Hey there, Amanda! How awesome that your family has a business, and that it's a "family affair," as you say. I bet that can be both fun and challenging! ;-)

The party sounds absolutely wonderful -- what a blessing for your friend! The food sounds amazing! You and your mom really know how to throw a party. :D

Thanks for sharing what you've been up to. I ended up working today, so besides the weekend, I'm not scheduled for a day off until the 19th . . . but, as a sub, you never know. This month looks like it's going to be my biggest month to date! Very exciting, and like I mentioned before, it's such a blessing.

If I don't chat with you before the weekend, I hope you have a great one! : )
