{A Quote to Inspire You} Sarah Young

  1. OOOOH! Love this quote! It is so true, isn't it? My 12 year old son is having a problem right now and we talked about this last night. My mama's heart wants to fix it for him, but I know I gotta let him seek God, not me and it's all part of God's plan to shape him. But oh, is this one of the hardest parts of parenting!

  2. Yes! I agree! Definitely true! I have a tendency to think, "Oh no! What am *I* going to do?" when I face a problem, but it's always great to get that gentle reminder that we're to seek Him during our trials.

I love how you're encouraging your son to seek God during His times of trouble. That is awesome!

It's sad to say, my daughters don't walk closely with the Lord, though they are both believers. They were 8 and 9 when we started going to church, and they were 10 and 11 when they were baptized (they're now 14 and 15). I have to constantly remind myself that they're on their own journey with their relationship with God, and that all I can do is guide them in the right direction (even if they do roll their eyes). You know the saying, "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink." Well, as much as I wish that they were "on fire" for God, I can't force them.

Now my little guy, he was 3 when we started going to church, and now he's 9. He goes to church with me every Sunday, and he's much more receptive to talking about and learning the Bible.

    Anyway, I digress. ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by, Susan. It's always nice to see you!
