My Review: This is my first novel by Serena Miller, and I can say with certainty that it won't be my last.  Miller has written a wonderful novel that captured my attention from the very first page!  She has a wonderful, descriptive writing style that immerses you into a realistic setting.  You feel as if you're right there with the shanty boys as they feast over meat pies, donuts, bread pudding, and cinnamon rolls.  The characters are well drawn, each with a distinct charm that makes for a great cast of characters, that won't soon be forgotten!

I've read a lot of stories set in the 1800's, but never one set in a lumber camp.  I really appreciate that unique aspect to the story.  The research was well done, and Miller wove the history of that time beautifully throughout the book.

The story kept my interest from beginning to end, anxious to see how things would turn out.  I thoroughly enjoyed this story and highly recommend it to anyone who loves a sweet, historical romance!
